I have lately begun to love the music of Titus Andronicus.

It's all about epic tunes played with great intensity.

Their latest album called "The Monitor" is a concept album loosely based on the American Civil War. Instead of being a commentary on war or society the songs are very personal and the war is something felt in one's soul. The album plays like a story of an ending relationship, filled with woe, hatred and longing for better times. In Patrick Stickles' songs the meaninglessness and the rationale of the war is analogous to the conflicts of withering love.

Here's a video for the opening track of "The Monitor". With lots of snow and flags and rallying crowds. If you want to hear the song in its entirety (the video ends when the song is just about to really kick off) you can listen to the album with Spotify or just right below.
