In 2007 Caribou psych-popped their way into my heart with their fabulous Andorra. Now the Canadian band is about to release a new album which, according to the band's main man Dan Snaith, will be a record of "dance music that sounds like it's made out of water."
The first track released from the album certainly follows that logic. Odessa has a steady danceable beat, but everything else seems to flow out of touch and always evade your grasp. In other words it sounds exactly like Caribou, with an extra dose of hip-shaking. Wonderful!
You can download the track by signing on to Caribou's mail list here and listen to some of the older stuff with Spotify.
