The battle for net neutrality is continuing as the House of Representatives recently voted in favour of allowing telecommunications giants like AT&T and Comcast the right to charge web site owners additional fees in exchange for priority access to their high-speed networks. The initiative has the power to erase the free flow of information on the internet and place substantially more online power in the hands of high spending corporate interests - at the expense of bloggers, activists and free democratic debate. It is expected that the debate will continue in the US Government through September.

Add your voice to those pushing to keep the net neutral by signing the online petition, then kick back and watch Jon Stewart's assessment of the situation below:

"The internet is not something you just dump something on. It's not just a big truck. It's, it's a series of tubes."
- Senator Ted Stevens, Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee
