I'm rarely impressed with Greenpeace actions, but this is good. After the French courts demanded they remove the location of genetically engineered maize fields from their website, Greenpeace activists ensured the locations would remain in the public eye by carving out a giant crop circle in a GE feild in Southern France.

EU regulations demand that member states maintain public registers in order to inform their citizens about the locations of genetically engineered fields. But the French government has yet to make the EU's directive into national law, and subsequently forced Greenpeace to remove the information from their French website.

The maps are still available at their international site.
