NORTHWEST:--Coleman Deming is still in early season form. The crevasses are starting to open but the route is still in good shape. The summit on Sunday was windy with low visibility, as the forest fire haze clouded most of the view. A North Ridge report can be found here. A Coleman Headwall report can be found here.
-- The road to Artist Point will open for the season at 8 a.m. Friday, July 30.
Crews were putting up signs Thursday and readying the road for drivers, said Dustin Terpening, spokesman for the Washington State Department of Transportation. DOT crews began clearing snow from the last 2.7-mile stretch of the Mount Baker Highway on July 6.
- A report for the Northern Pickets can be found here with lots of information and pictures. You're going to want to read this one: Crampons and running shoes. YES!

For the Mountaineers Route, no crampons/ice axe/boots are needed and a sturdy pair of hiking boots or shoes will suffice. The NW Face variation of the Mountaineers Route is almost snow free with a couple of small sno patches. It is a good decent option for any of the technical routes.
