Lately, I've been seeing swarms and swarms of these tiny hemipterans at the arboretum. I thought they were ants at first, but they're actually smaller than ants, and they're clearly true bugs. I'm pretty sure they're seed bugs, (Xyonysius californicus). Those round dead-leafy looking things are actually tiny weed seeds, and I'm wondering if the bugs eat them.
