The lovely Naomi tagged me for this award. I always get giddy when I am nominated for an award, so thank you Naomi!
I am of half a mind to ask you my beautiful readers to nominate me for this award, but then I get all shy and decide not to.
But if you did, you would have the pleasure of watching me hyperventilate. Just a little. any category you like but probably under the Australian/NZ blog category
And of course, if any of YOU would like me to nominate you, please let me know! Leave a comment or drop me an email, if you are shy like me and don't want to ask in a public forum :)
So, the 10 things that make me happy:
A disclaimer. It goes without saying that my husband and children make me VERY happy. However, they may pop up in this list somewhere.
1. Reading a book makes me happy. Very happy. In fact I have a blog post swimming round my head with reviews of the book stack that's sitting by my bed. Ever since I was little I have LOVED reading books. At the moment biographies and historical texts are my passion, but I'm always on the lookout for new books. I've also got a couple of books on the go about preparing to run a half marathon. It's very interesting (to me at least) how the writers of both texts have approached the same event in TOTALLY different ways.
2. This makes me beyond happy. This is Ocea-Marie snuggled up in the crook of my arm the entire time we visited Sam and Carly and family last week. I don't think you need me to explain my raptures do you?
3. I have a five year old daughter who LOVES to dress up. She doesn't give a fig what other people are wearing or what she should be wearing. She follows her own path. And I love her fearlessness. And I'm hoping maybe she too will grow up and become a blue fairy one day!
4. The thought of homeschooling makes me very nervy, but these school holidays I've been working with my kids to do "just a little" reading and writing with them. They've LOVED it. And strangely, so have I. I am in awe of parents who homeschool. I think they are incredible people. But now I can see why they love it too.
5. I love my i-phone. I think their should be government funding for anyone who wants one. Apparently you can get funding for all kinds of strange things. But I think they should be manadatory.
6. Chocolate. Especially white chocolate. Which, despite missing a key ingredient associated with the chocolate family is still chocolate.
7. I LOVE weight loss success stories. I am so proud of my friend Erika and I am looking forward to joining her in her journey. As of next Tuesday I will be. I am not aiming to be skinny, but rather strong and healthy, but Erika's great approach to losing 56 pounds is inspirational!
8. Handbags. I have my eye on a potential "birthday" bag. My birthday isn't till March which gives my husband lots of time to save up!
9. The beach.
10. Early mornings.
And now I get to tag ten people. Yay!
1. Erika, my inspirational friend!
2. Christie, a new friend and an AWARD winning blogger. How cool is that?
3. Bec, a fellow Perth girl, who has also had a fab blog makeover and is looking very pretty!
4. Amanda is a fairly new person in my blog world but oh my, the girl can bake and makes points that leave me thinking all day.
5. Danielle. Much more than a blog designer. Quite possibly one of the most innovative people I've ever met. And lovely too.
6. Mrs Spit. And she has her own website. I am not sure what that means but I do know she relocated recently and you should check out her new place!
7. Barking Owl. I can't ever recall her barking during the time we worked together. But, if you are looking for book recommendations, she's the one to visit!
8. Kerri Sackville. I can't believe we haven't met before but she is hilarious and poignant. At the same time. You'll love her.
9. Jayne at Indydreaming. She is one of those people I hope I can be when I get my act together. She's terrific (and in the interests of full disclosure, she is helping me pursue my chosen career)
10. Monica. I adore her.
So this blog post took a long time to write. And a long time to read. So while you are here, let me know, what do you love?
