I'm a big fan of cooking and all things artsy but the two seem to meet far too seldom.

The cooking books are starting to look a bit more like design products instead of gramma's black and white textbooks, but the cooking programs and especially all the stuff you'll find in the youtube and such seem to be totally amateurish when it comes to esthetics (not to mention the over-enthusiastic Jamie Oliver-wannabees). And I don't really care how good the recipe is if the visual side of the program makes you wince more than the idea of going for a wisdom tooth operation. I will seldom watch for more than half a minute and never think back on missing the ending.

So, I was really impressed when I found this video of how to make your own Mozzarella cheese at Trend Land. The creepy leather gloves, the plain stainless steel hardware, lab test tubes and breaking of the weird pills makes manufacturing your own mozzarella seem like a lot more than just DIY cheese. Not to mention the the obscure (at least to me) hip-hop in the background. And since you get to wear cool black gloves it should make a perfect pass time activity in this perpetual cold.
