A pair of dire warnings on climate change were issued today from two of the world's leading charities - Christian Aid and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The report from Christian Aid, titled Human Tide: The Real Migration Crisis, is predicting that forced migration due to global warming will result in more than a billion homeless people by 2050, while the WWF report, Climate Solutions, predicts that we have just 5 years to put in motion the actions and policies needed to avert catastrophic climate change.

The silver lining comes from the WWF report. According to their analysis, sustainable energy and technology can curb climate change and meet projected growth in demand for energy - but action is needed by 2012 to ensure success.
