Alison and went for a walk last saturday at the Circle B Reserve. Man there was a lot of nature to take in. They have really made it a nice place to Visit. I was telling alison before they built the nature center and all the park areas there was nothing but a trail from the parking lot. I love the non-action going on in the picture. Almost frozen like, sort of what the Circle B is all about.

Friday Nature is back this week.  I have no idea what the real name of this flower is.  If you know and want to share please do.  The weekend is here! My family is looking forward to The Hold Steady live at The Social.  Its sold out so it should a wild concert.  So here is to the weekend. Enjoy some nature, music and some family.  Without them we would be lost in this place we call Earth. On that note bartender make it a double whiskey, coke no ice.................

I thought this one was appropriate for the times we live in. We have the Leader of Iran announcing that his country has a surprise for the West on February 11, 2010. Great, and my birthday is on 15th! So if anyone knows or has the address for the Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, please email me or leave me a message on this blog because I would love to send him a nice big watermelon. Yes, you say why? I say why not! If all our leaders just sat down with some nice cold sweet watermelon(from the South of course) the world would be a lot safer. We even have seedless watermelon now. Which I try not to partake in because I don't think God intended for watermelon to be seedless. I digress; what I’m trying to say is Peace moves like the tides. People come and go with ideas on how we should achieve peace and we tend to forget about the simplest things that bring peace to this world and to our lives.....like watermelon.

Well we are back and I almost forgotten how to blog.  That is beside the point.  I'll try to blog new works as best I can.  Lots of stuff to share with you guys.  So much has been going on since my last post, don't really know where to start.  We will just start with this Polaroid made last year(2009).  Everybody needs to breathe a little beauty, the only problem is we all have chains that weigh us down.  Lets be thankful for the things we do have and the things that bring us together.  And let us break the chains so our beauty can breathe.......

#2

I'll just post all six and once their up maybe you guys can tell me what you think.

I have not been able to get back in the studio for sometime. Hopefully that will end soon. I do have a lot of work in the can. These new post are Paper collages. I have a lot of scrap paper laying around the studio. As always I can't bring myself to throw anything away. I have been working in a 8 1/2 x 6 notebook. These are the first six and many more to come. These were all done between April 2009 and June 2009.

Hello and welcome back to Rapidview. I just got this one done. Its all framed up. The piece is 17x10 1/2". Framed 22x28". An example is below, I used the backs of the polaroid film for the backing. I'll be posting some more Polaroids soon. I would love to hear your thoughts. This is Rapidivew, until next time good day and good night now....

The first Platform for kids was a great success. We had over 240 people. The performance and art was really amazing to see. This picture turned out really great. Not much digital work just made the background a little darker.

I added a few packs of Polaroid to my stash. 46 packs. I hit 4 Wal-Marts. $12.14 a pack. The best deal came in Auburndale, they had the double packs for $19.00. Its still hard to figure out whats going on with Polaroid. Time is closing in.......

This was the Lake that I spent most of my time on this weekend. Mayfarie by the lake was great. I made a few bucks. The bird you see is a White Pelican. It use to be an endangered species. Its a beautiful bird, they started coming to lakeland about four or five years ago.

Another Mayfaire will happen this weekend, if your in Lakeland stop by booth #106. I hope it goes better than the last show I was in. Not many people buying art right now, to many other things to worry about, the life and times of an Artist living in the 21st century

What do you think? This one is already sold but its still going in the show. click on the image to see all the details. I hope everyone has a great weekend. I will post again this weekend and let you guys know how the Iron & Wine concert is.......peace

Life is busy right now, I have a show coming up at the end of the month and I'm almost done with all the artwork. Going to see Iron & Wine on Friday. Maybe I will have some pictures for you guys. I Hope all is well.......

Most of these places are long gone. Surprisingly there is one located in Polk County. What does that say about this place......?

Alison's friend Brandy came down for a visit and of course we caught a Tigers Spring Training game. The whole weekend was a blast. Put it on record that Brandy and I think the Tigers are going all the way.............. will at least until they face the Devil Rays. Lets Go Rays.

These are Polaroids from the Cambridge Students. I did a workshop a while back for their photography department and boy have they taken off! Cambridge Study Center is located in Lakeland, Florida. If you want your kids to think outside the box thats the place. Check out there website if your interested. Also check out there photo blog. These students are producing work way above their level and that is because of their teacher Van Cannon Kirby He has about 18 blogs so I'll just list one. Well I hope your weekend is going well. I will have a big surprise for you guys very soon......so keep in touch with the rapidview......
