My life Embedded In The Emulsion for the whole month of October 2010.  One picture a day for the whole month, taken with a point and shoot film camera. Using ISO 800 speed film.  Some days will have notes and some will not. Click on the links you never know where you might end up.  It should be fun and hopefully you will enjoy the images.

Something from what I like to call the "black Box." Done earlier this year.  The image speaks for itself.

Friday Nature is back this week.  I have no idea what the real name of this flower is.  If you know and want to share please do.  The weekend is here! My family is looking forward to The Hold Steady live at The Social.  Its sold out so it should a wild concert.  So here is to the weekend. Enjoy some nature, music and some family.  Without them we would be lost in this place we call Earth. On that note bartender make it a double whiskey, coke no ice.................

One of my favorite things to do everyday is check out Shirt.Woot.com  they sell a different shirt everyday of the year. Some good some bad, you have to catch them on their good days.  I have bought 3 total shirts so far. The yellow shirt being one of them. I thought the design was really clever. You can't tell from the picture but its the human body with the birds in place of the organs jpg image. When I got the shirt in the mail. I opened it up and a light appeared in the box because it was so yellow.  It didn't look that yellow on the site, O well, its one hell of a shirt. Now Alison and I both have yellow shirts that we can wear when we go out together!  Aaaa thats so sweet. Couples that dress the same are awesome!! If you ask Alison she would tell you, 'O hell no they are not.' By the way on this day I had to change my yellow shirt but its only a matter of time.......

It has been a challenge for me to post lately. Just look at my archive and you will see a steady decline. Often I wonder if there has been a decline in my work also?  Maybe this is because I'm finding it harder and harder to find time to create.  Part of that is because I'm riddled with A.D.D just ask my wife she will tell you.  No telling how many Polaroid collages I have made but the simple question is.  Do you see a progression or recession? Every artist wants to know if he/she is moving forward.  I hope my timeline doesn't reflect today's congress that is for sure!  There are ups and downs with every artist but I'm learning to cherish and be thankful for the times that I do get to create and also realizing that it doesn't always have to be about Art.....Creating can be about lasting relationships with others, bringing joy to someone that doesn't expect you to, making a dinner for your family. Bottom line we all create something not because we want to but because WE HAVE to.....

To me, one of the most enjoyable parts of a baseball card is not so much the player, but what's in the background of the photo. It's especially fun when an old advertisement takes a prominent spot, like this one of Bill Fahey from 1973 Topps. (In fact, 1973 Topps may contain the greatest photo backgrounds of any set, ever, but that's a topic for another post.)

In plain sight to the left of Fahey there's an ad for the fine dining and cocktail options available at Harris' Imperial House in Boca Raton, Florida. The card also features an ad for Fowlkes Chevrolet, which, judging from information available on the Web, may or may not be related in some way with Mayes Chevrolet, which had been on the former Storyland Park property in Broward County, Florida (Pompano Beach: A History).

Next time you're going through your cards, find a good one with a prominent ad in the background of the player photo and post a scan on The Baseball Card Blog's Facebook page. I bet we'll get a great gallery going.

Good old Lake Morton, also know as the "Duck lake" This was taken last month. I just had to snap it because of the sky......

Whats on your cool box? Most of those things have been on the box since I moved into this place. It is funny how we want change but when it boils down to it, we don't change a thing. I do know good old James has found a home. Every time I crack open a Redbull, he makes me feel like a Man....now all I need is a six shooter. Boom Boom, down goes another Cracker..........

From the hip, a super fun way of shooting. You never know what your going to get. This was taken in Winter Park, Florida. Didn't get much that day but I like whats going on in this image.

The last one of the 1st four Polaroids. Don't know if I"m off to a good start but, hey its a start. I'm trying to put less things into these polaroids but I think that is where I run into trouble. I believe in flowing not trying, your art should flow out of you. When you get down to trying it becomes something else. And thats how l Like to work in my state of mind.....
