I discovered this morning that my male wide-arm mantid, the little "dark prince," has shed his skin. It was his final shed, and he is now an adult.


As I had hoped, he has regrown part of his missing foot. He appears to at least have some toes there.



I don't want to handle him while his new skin is hardening, so better pictures outside of his container will have to wait a bit. He does appear to be bright and alert. Here's a shot looking through the clear plastic top. You can see his old skin hanging upside down beside him.
