Ms. Cupcake opened April 1st in Brixton. She's London's first all vegan bakery. I've been to see her many times in Brick Lane but this was my first ever trip to Brixton! I met Ms. Cupcake at Iron Cupcake almost one year ago.

The shop is very spacious and as you can see the cupcakes are made right there! Not too many shops make their cupcakes on the premises.

Her right hand man Jason was in the shop when I arrived. There he is hard at work making more cupcakes. Anne and I both arrived at the same time and had a coffee outside at Rosie's. I love getting together with my blogging friends for a little cake gossip! My husband and co-workers can only take some much cake talk.

The shop has huge windows all at the front and it was incredibly bright hence all the glare on the cupcake cases. I bought a key lime cupcake to take home with me. The frosting was great and had a really nice lime flavor.

They also have a few vegan books and cupcake paraphernalia for sale.

Anne and I were both tempted down to the bakery by these babies. Vegan donuts! I have never had a vegan donut before and they taste no different than a regular donut. If there is a baked good that London is missing it's donuts. I have made a few of my own donuts.

Jason prepared us a whole plate of goodies to try! I enjoyed the Boston Cream donut the most but the custard was a bit absorbed into the donut. I think that the cookie sandwiches are my new favorite. I really liked the vanilla one and I could eat 10 of them!

I'll definitely be back!

Masterchef Live 2010

Looking for a Christmas gift this year? If you know someone who is a girly girl like me than she will love one of these Posh Pinnies. I've already bought 2 as Christmas gifts to myself! My husband thinks I look adorable wearing it while I'm baking my cupcakes.

These designer aprons are made and sold by a lovely mother and daughter Jane and Sophie Richardson and can be purchased on line.

Masterchef Live 2010

They will also be at Taste of Christmas in a few weeks time.

Masterchef Live 2010

I bought the pink polka dot full pinny a year ago at Taste of Christmas and it's still in excellent condition. It washes up really well and I think they're very unique.

More manly designs and colors are also available for those men out there that love to cook.

Masterchef Live 2010

I love food shows. I try to get to all the ones that come to London each year. I love looking for new, different and interesting food. I took lots of photos while at Masterchef. Click here to see them all.

Juan Sheet is Plenty (what happened to Brenda and Audry?)

I watched the invention test first. I thought about signing up but I don't think I could think so quickly and cook without any recipes in front of me.

I got Gregg's Pudding book. I thought if I ever move back to the US I can impress at dinner parties with an English dessert. Can't believe that they didn't look up! Oh well...

Masterchef Live 2010
I bought a few bars of Seed & Bean chocolate. The Lemon & Poppy seed was excellent.

They have at least 3 different kinds of Toffee Vodka at every food show I've ever been too. I think it's vile!

Masterchef Live 2010
Bramley & Gage were selling mini bottles of liquor which I thought would be perfect for cupcakes.

Masterchef Live 2010
I tried a sample of an African Yam. Interesting. Tastes a lot like a potato.

IMGP1703

There were a few cupcake things but nothing that shouted out at me really. Holly Cupcakes had some good extracts imported from the US. I bought a bottle of Pineapple.

I had a really good time and went home completely exhausted and stuffed! I can't wait for Taste of Christmas already!

Cupcake Camp London is coming up soon so I thought I could use a new cupcake T-Shirt to wear on the special day. This cute T-Shirt I bought is a part of Johnny Cupcakes artists series made by Little Friends of Printmaking.

I think it's adorable the bear and the raccoon, eating cupcakes together (kinda like Yogi and Boo Boo)! It also has a nice autumn feel. I got lucky and wasn't charged the extra 17.5% VAT by customs and it came in less than 10 days after I placed my order.

If you're thinking of ordering one and don't know what size to get. I go with mediums from Johnny Cupcakes.

The back

Secret message on the inside

Paperchase has loads of cupcake paraphernalia. The store on Cheapside is pretty big and it basically has a small area with just cupcake things on it! it's lethal having to walk by it twice everyday going to and from work!

I went in today to get something for someone else and these caught my eye

Cupcake ice cube tray. How cute is that. It was about £5 I think.

These would be so cute when serving cupcakes and ice cold lemonade when friends come round!

and these
Cupcake hand warmers!

How adorable. I think they were £9. I have something similar. They work by snapping the metal disc in the middle and the liquid gets warm. It stays hot for about 20-30 minutes. In this time the liquid turns solid and to make it liquid again place in a pan of boiling water. These would be a nice stocking stuffer for Christmas!

I bought a Coach Cupcake Keyring while I was in the US last week. The website says $38 but I'm pretty sure I paid $26 in store.

It's a bit pricey but it looks really cute on my handbag. Too cute to put my keys on it and hide it in my purse. Gives my handbag a bit of character as well!

I'm a sucker for cupcake anything (I do try and stay away from the more tacky items). I was in the US and I saw these Liplicious Cupcake lip gross range at Bath & Body Works. I had to get one in each flavor of course!

They have red velvet, coconut cream, cookies n' cream and strawberry. They're $8.00 each and at the moment are buy 2 get 1 free. I'm partial to the red velvet. It smells really nice and is a nice purple/maroon color.

I had a last minute small world cup party at my house to watch the USA v Ghana game (let's forget they lost). I made Peanut Butter Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Swiss Meringue Buttercream, onion rings and pink lemonade. These were American things I could think of at the last minute to make. I almost made my own salsa and guacamole but decided to buy from Waitrose at the end. We did have Pimms which is English not American but it's my favorite summer drink.

I got place cards from Paperchase in Red, White & Blue for a last minute decoration

This is the first time I made onion rings and I thought they came out really good!

I think I made too much food for just 4 people!

Finally a chance to use my cupcake card holders!

Even though we lost it was a beautiful day and we had a good time!

Click here for the Peanut Butter Cupcake recipe and here for the Onion Rings

Richmond is one of my favorite places in London. I lived there when I first moved to London. It's nice to go on a summer day and walk by the river. There are also a lot of really nice cafes around.

One of my favorite places in Richmond is the Tea Box. It only opened a few years ago. I really wish it was open when I lived there.I would go there everyday instead of Starbucks or other coffee chains.

I got a cheese scone this time. I think the fruit ones are the best. They have blueberry, apple, pumpkin and many others. They serve breakfast, sandwiches and cake as well. I haven't tried anything else except the scones. There were large chunks of melting cheese in this scone. It was delicious.

They have a very large tea menu. I like to get something different each time. I got a flowering Osmathus tea. It was very good. I prefer my flowering tea in a pot rather than in a glass. You could really taste the flowers. It wasn't too strong.

The other great thing about Richmond is Kooks Unlimited. They carry a lot of different supplies and now they have a separate store a few doors down purely dedicated to baking and decorating stuff!
