Sponsored by the good folk at Nuffnang.

As you know we have started renovation works at home. Trying to explain to the offspring the importance of staying out of the way of the builders has fallen on deaf ears.
This is despite my shrieks of: “NO, MR SMALL, YOU CAN’T PLAY WITH THOSE NAILS!” and: “NO, MISS MEDIUM, YOU CAN’T ADD SAND TO THE CEMENT MIXER, IT MIGHT KILL YOU!”
So I was getting fairly panicky about how to occupy my offspring and keep my sanity intact when the building works officially commenced.
Thankfully two things happened in quick succession. Firstly, my parents suggested we move in with them for a while. This was truly excellent news. But how to occupy the offspring during the many visits to our bomb site home?
Then the lovely Lynda from Nuffnang phoned and asked me if I was interested in doing a product review. When I inquired what it was for I practically hugged her over the phone.
She was asking  me the offspring to review the Handy Manny Repair Shop.
This thing is awesome.
And I don’t say that lightly.
Once my husband had put the repair table together  (that engineering degree comes in super handy at times like this) the kids were off and racing.
It comes with blueprints they slot into the “diagnostic centre.” Yes my three year old is using a DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE. In my day it was chalk and paper.
And it talks my kids through how to build something. 20 different projects actually.
So every day before school, my day unfolds like this.
Feed offspring breakfast.
Dress offspring and pelt out my parent’s front door.
Go to house and let out two extremely cranky cats.
Wave to builders (and surreptitiously check if they’ve started drinking the beers yet)
Set offspring up with Manny’s Repair Shop.
While they are busy building go and see what has happened to my house today.
I know they’re busy because I hear Manny’s voice guiding them through the steps of what they need to do next.
By the time I’ve finished checking they’ve usually built something.
Oddly enough my kids seem more productive than my builders. This is interesting, because we are paying them considerably more than I am paying my children to do anything.
Maybe they need a Repair Shop too?
Definitely an awesome Christmas gift for boys and girls.

(Even Manny looks relaxed on site)
