It takes alot to make me REALLY angry. I mean that. I am forgiving and tolerant to the enth degree. I also rarely have a bad word to say about others.
But not today.
NOT TODAY.
Today I am here at my keyboard banging away at it with vehemence the likes of which you've never seen.
Here's why.
You see it's my daughter's party tomorrow. Knowing that next year she will probably want a stripper pole and botox ;) means I want to make this sixth birthday super special. I worked extra hours at my little job so I could make sure we could afford for her to have a really wonderful time.
I asked a few weeks ago what were good sites for ordering unique party goods from. I am a passionate believer in supporting online stores for many reasons. I got loads of suggestions and narrowed it down to two stores. One is what I suspect is a relatively new store and the other touts itself as: "Australia’s leading online celebration shop."
My daughter and I then spent some very happy time together ordering goodies and things to make her "fairies in the garden" party unforgettable. Miss Medium was so excited. She painstakingly hand wrote the list of things we'd ordered out herself to keep under her bed.
I ordered from both three weeks ago. This little site was fanbloodytastic. I mean that. My emails were replied to promptly and the stuff is lovely.
I also placed a large order at another site.
I got a confirmation order promptly saying they'd received my order. Then nothing.
Two weeks went by and I got an email last week saying a great deal of the stuff I'd ordered wasn't available and if I needed substitutions to call and do that.
I wasn't thrilled but I phoned and made substitutions.
I also explained the party was the following Friday and hey, why hadn't it been sent yet?
I was assured that it would arrive early the following week.
All week my daughter and I have been waiting.
So I finally phoned today to ask where the hell my stuff was.
I was informed the girl would go and check with the warehouse and phone me straight back.
An hour later no call.
Two hours later an email arrives telling me it has been shipped.
Today.
Are you kidding me?
No call, nothing.
So I phoned back and explained the party is TOMORROW.
"Well it should arrive for the party tomorrow" said the girl.
Clearly she's never had one herself. Because if you had you would know you actually need to bake stuff BEFORE the party, make up the goody bags BEFORE the party etc etc.
The thing is. I did the right thing. I ordered 3 weeks in advance. I did all the chasing up.
I was lied to, misled and given shitty customer service.
And now I have to face my daughter this afternoon and explain that most of the stuff we had planned for her birthday isn't going to be there.
Thanks alot Pink Frosting.
You've lost a customer today.
I now have to see if I can go and find substitutes for this stuff myself having spent the week in bed with flu.
And the best bit?
I have to tell my daughter you ruined her party.
Nice work.
