Sponsored by Nuffnang:  What made my husband cry and how you can win $500.

My husband is not a man who expresses visible emotion. It’s something I have come to appreciate over the years. His stoicism has been of enormous help to me during this unpredictable journey they call parenthood.
But recently I heard his voice crack, and I swear I saw a teeny tiny tear glistening in his eye as we fare-welled a recent and all to brief addition to our family.
One of the more thrilling aspects of blogging is when people ask you for your opinion on something. And I was lucky enough to be asked to review the Honda Odyssey on my blog.

Now I am the first to say I am not a “car person” per se. As long as it gets me and the offspring from A to B in one piece that’s fine. Well it used to be. I’m sad to say it is no longer the case.

I’ve never owned a brand new car. So the brand new car smell of the Honda Odyssey was intoxicating enough in itself. If you throw in three overexcited Offspring and a couple of their friends one would think it was a recipe for madness. But it wasn’t. Mainly because there is so much space in the car I couldn’t hear them. It was like travelling in first class. Though I hasten to add, I haven’t done that either but I’m sure its pretty close to driving in this car.

The car has AMAZING legroom, seats seven people, and as on any given day I can be ferrying that number of children works out brilliantly for me and them.  The steering is out of this world, and it was remarkably fuel efficient given its size. It has a number of thoughtful touches like drink holders and magazine racks, so that instead of waiting on muddy fields while the Offspring did sport I sat comfortably in “my” car reading a magazine and sipping my skinny cappuccino.

My head is still swollen from the compliments I got on the school run about my new car. I was bursting to tell them all the facts about it, including that it comes with comes equipped with class-leading safety features such as Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), front, side and full-length curtain airbags and advanced anti-lock braking. I didn’t of course. I modestly explained that it was simply the “fauxner” but wasn’t it lovely? And so shiny!

So it was a sad day when I returned our new companion to the dealer, but I will say this car went a long way to making a busy week of chauffeuring a lot more fun for me and for my passengers. I suspect that a trip to a winery or to a park would be a joy if I got to travel in it.
And in other exciting brilliant news you also have the chance to win $500 and a loan of the car as well. How good would that be?
